Martha Ministry Volunteers Needed

Please consider being a part of one of the most gratifying ministries at St. Ignatius Parish.  The Martha Ministry volunteers are responsible for providing a luncheon reception in the Garden Room for families in our parish who are experiencing the loss of a loved one.  Most often, the funeral is held in our church and the guests arrive in the Garden Room immediately after the service.

We are in need of volunteers to help with the set-up of the Garden Room to prepare for receptions and also for clean-up when the reception is complete.  Time commitment for either volunteer opportunity is usually only 3 hours. The usual set-up time is around 8:30 am to 11:30 am with clean up normally around 11:30 pm to 2:00 pm, although the hours might vary a bit.

This truly is a ministry where just a little time on your part can make a very difficult day a bit easier for grieving families. We hope you will consider joining us.

We also need volunteers to bake desserts for the funeral receptions.  We appreciate hand-held desserts such as brownies, cookies, or cookie-bars as they are easy to plate and serve.  While we very much appreciate homemade desserts for their “comfort” appeal, we know that many of our parishioners lead busy lives so we are also happy to have desserts you might purchase.
