How does Scrip work?

• Scrip works just like a gift card you would purchase from the retailer, only you are purchasing from the school or online from Shopwithscrip.com. Participating merchants sell them to SI at a small discount off face value, typically 2-10%. You pay face value, the school keeps the difference. There are no fees and gift cards do NOT expire.
• Scrip is great for your teenage drivers (Reloadable gas cards) and shoppers (family groceries), as well as the college students (Subway, Chipotle, Taco Bell).

Why is Scrip important for our school?

• Scrip is an important fundraiser for the school that actually costs you no more than you would already be spending for gas, groceries, coffee, and dinners out, plus many more things! No more asking co-workers to buy your kids candy or other items, if you consistently use Scrip for your everyday shopping, you don’t have to worry about meeting that fundraising goal; you will easily reach it!

What will Scrip support?

• Scrip is a large fundraising program within the SI Parent Club. The profits directly support the school, and in turn help to keep your tuition down. The funds are used for the cost of general operations.

Who decides how Scrip funds are spent?

• The school budget is developed by the Finance Chair from the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council approves the budget and final approval is given by the Pastor.

Why should I use Scrip? Is there a “catch”? What does it really cost to me?

• You should use Scrip because it’s any easy way to earn dollars for your school and a cost effective way to reach your Parent Club Fundraising Commitment. There is NO CATCH! If you use Presto pay online there is a $.39 charge per transaction – that’s it! Otherwise you can pay by cash or check in the school office.

Are there any geographical restrictions on where I can use Scrip?

• There are no geographical restrictions as long as the retailer you choose is available in that area. You can also use your purchased gift cards on line.

Is there an expiration date for Scrip cards?

• By California law, gift cards cannot expire and merchants cannot charge maintenance fees. That means you can carry that card around for as long as necessary and it will still be worth its full face value.

Who runs the Scrip program at our school?

• Scrip is run entirely by volunteers, and we always need help; a great easy way to earn parent volunteer hours!
