Modified Prayer of St Francis
Reflection for Prayer Service - March 14, 2018

We want to share this special prayer with all our parents.  The eighth grade class worked together to write a modified version of the Prayer of St. Francis.  They used Ignatian ideas to add reflections to the prayer.  They led the school in this beautiful prayer after today’s Mass.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Help our St Ignatius Community be mindful of
one another and Find God in ALL things.

Where there is injury, pardon;
When we fall physically, mentally, or spiritually,
Please place those opportunities in front of us
to grow in mind, body, and spirit.

Where there is doubt, faith;
Help everyone in our community see the
Greatness of God and believe in Him.

Where there is despair, hope;
When we feel alone, please give us signs
of your presence.

Where there is darkness, light;
When we feel enslaved by culture and trends,
please help us as a community find direction to
Set the World on Fire with Love and Peace.

Where there is sadness, joy;
Help us smile in times of loss,
and find Joy on our Journey here at St Ignatius.

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled,
as to console;

Guide us to deliver a message of Love and Peace.

To be understood, as to understand;
Help us walk together in Solidarity with
the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized to be better
Companions in Hope towards all of
God’s Creation including our Earth.

To be loved, as to love.
Help us be true disciples of Jesus. Love one another.

For it is in giving that we receive;
Guide us to discern where to live the Magis.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
Help us to forgive and
understand the importance of reconciliation.

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen
