Letter from our Pastor, Fr. Mike Moynahan, S.J.

Dear Parishioners,

For the last 15 months, several members of our parish and school have been working diligently to update our very outdated master site plan.

You may remember that it has been more than 25 years since we addressed the capital needs on our campus.  So it should come as no surprise that we have deferred maintenance issues and, more importantly, a critical need for facility improvements as a result of the growth and changing needs in our parish and school ministries. As such, if we aspire to sustain and grow our ministries, we will need to act soon.

As a result, we have retained professional counsel to conduct a confidential feasibility study to better determine how our parishioners feel about advancing the vital ministries at St. Ignatius. Your opinions are central to our purpose and your support for our shared vision of the future is critical to our success.

As part of the feasibility study, I am asking all members of our parish and school – you – to participate in a confidential electronic survey.  Your participation will enable me to consider the input of as many parishioners as possible in order to discern our path for the future. Our consulting firm will collect all confidential responses and present a report of findings and recommendations based on your opinions in late September.

Therefore, I invite all parishioners and school families to complete the parish-wide survey by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SI_Parish. Prior to completing the survey, I ask that you read the case statement that articulates our plans.  As you may know, we have a new parish website.  Unfortunately, our parish webmaster is currently in South America, so for your convenience we have placed the case statement on our school website.  Simply go to www.stignatiussacschool.org and click on the case statement button.  Once you have read the case statement, please go to the above survey link and complete the survey.

For those who would prefer a hard copy of the case statement and/or the survey, copies will be made available in the vestibule and the parish offices. In addition, we have provided envelopes marked confidential, that once sealed, will be opened only by the consultant.  A Frequently Asked Questions document has been prepared and is also available on the school website, and in the vestibule and parish office.

Many blessings and I look forward to our consultant receiving your feedback.

Fr. Michael E. Moynahan, S.J.
