Eighth Grade Carnival 2016
Dear SI Families:
It is that time of year – The 8th Grade Carnival! For our many new families, the 8th grade carnival is an opportunity for the 8th graders to raise funds to help defray the costs of their graduation year. In addition and more importantly, it is a chance for the 8th graders to say thank you to the school community that has been such a strong, influential part of their young lives.
With that being said the event is just two weeks away and the 8th graders and their families have been busy working to make this year’s event a huge success. We hope that all SI families will join us in our fundraising efforts by supporting this fun event. To that end and to help families plan their carnival ticket needs, last week your child should have received two flyers regarding the 8th Grade Carnival. The first is a ticket and meal pre-order form and the second a flyer detailing game and food prices. Please take the time to review these flyers as there are a few new items.
As in past years, we are offering an opportunity to purchase a meal voucher. This almost guarantees that your child will eat lunch and not use all of their tickets on games and other fun items. If you choose to pre-order a meal your child will receive a meal voucher along with the tickets they purchase. The voucher will be separate and distinguishable from the tickets so that there will be no confusion as to its purpose.
We strongly encourage you to consider pre-ordering both tickets and meals. Pre-orders should be returned with the child to their classroom or to the office no later than Friday, May 20th. While tickets will also be available the day of the Carnival this is an easy way to get a jump start on your child’s fun day. Also, if you pre-order, your child will receive an additional 5 extra tickets.
Finally, please note a new spin on a returning favorite. This year there will be an actual photo booth. It is 12 tickets but that can be split between friends and the children will get their pictures on the spot. Crazy hats, sunglasses, and other accessories will be available for your child and their friends to make some memorable photos.
