Free STEM event for girls in grades 2 – 4 on May 20th. The Girls’ Night Out outreach event will have several hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities. As a youth sports coach and official for many years with a focus on Lacrosse for the past four years, I am currently in process of building a team of U-10 boys through Sacramento Youth Lacrosse who will participate in a beginners league that emphasizes having fun while teaching the fundamentals of the game of lacrosse. Lacrosse is the oldest team sport in North America and is reported to be the fastest growing team sport in Northern California. Anyone who would like to volunteer their time at school, on a field trip, or any activity that involves our students, MUST complete an on line course provided by LawRoom and our Safe Environment for Children Program.
THIS TRAINING IS MANDATED AND A PROOF OF CERTIFICATE MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE BEFORE YOU MAY VOLUNTEER TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY SCHOOL EVENTS/FUNCTIONS WHERE CHILDREN ARE PRESENT. This training must be renewed EVERY 3 years.
