Lower grades Science is all about hands on
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
are the gateways to critical thinking and developing the
conceptual skills students need to understand the world around
them. These skills, combined with the ability to problem solve,
work collaboratively, conduct research, and planning and
executing a design process are considered the foundation to
innovation that is needed for our students’ future success.
St. Ignatius has a fully implemented NGSS Science program for 1st
– 8th grade.

For 2nd – 4th grade students, presentations to their classmates
and occasionally family members is an integral part of our
Science curriculum. Students will conduct individual and
group presentations throughout the year on a variety of
Parents, please plan on joining us at least twice this year for
your student’s presentations. I will send you an email and
of course inform your student that you will be invited in to the
classroom to view their presentation.

THIS TRAINING IS MANDATED AND A CERTIFICATE MUST BE PRESENTED TO
THE SCHOOL OFFICE BEFORE YOU MAY VOLUNTEER TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY
SCHOOL EVENTS/FUNCTIONS WHERE CHILDREN ARE PRESENT. This
training must be renewed EVERY 3 years.
