In second grade the students prepare for the reception of their
first Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The eighth
graders prepare for the reception of the sacrament of
Confirmation. The sacramental preparation programs are an
important part of the curriculum for these grades.
Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, Bishop Soto has postponed all
Sacraments until further notice. Our children have been
preparing for First Eucharist all year and Confirmation the past
two years. The journey in arriving to this point has been filled
with reflection, prayer, and community. That journey will
just continue for a bit and that can never be a bad thing.
The gifts of those days, of receiving those Sacraments, will
happen and as soon as we know, we will inform you.
Participating in sacraments is an important part of the spiritual
life at St. Ignatius School. Each class, grades first
through eighth, receives Eucharist weekly at mass. During
Advent and Lent, third through eighth grades partake in the
sacrament of Reconciliation.

Today the second grade was honored to have Father Mike and
several parishioners join us in our classroom to share their
First Communion memories. Here are some pictures from this
morning.
