St. Ignatius Parish School is a ministry of St. Ignatius Church.
The majority of families who attend the school are also
active in the life of the parish.
Would you consider joining our livestream team at St. Ignatius
Church? It means so much to many who are sheltering in
place to be able to participate in the Mass. Livestreaming
is easy and fun. No experience is necessary, but basic
computer skills are helpful. Training is provided.
Livestreamers arrive about 20-30 minutes early to the church’s
choir loft to turn on the equipment and schedule the video.
No heavy lifting required; no equipment to move. You can even
select how often you are scheduled: once a week,
twice a month, or more.
Unfortunately, due to the County’s renewed COVID 19
restrictions, we will be unable to hold our annual Tootsie
Roll
Drive as planned.
You can still contribute to the drive by writing a check made
payable to the COLUMBIAN FOUNDATION ID (a 501(c)(3)
charitable organization (tax deductible) and mailing it
to:
St. Ignatius Parish Church has suspended Children’s Liturgy for
now, but the parish is providing its families with access to the
free weekly “Children Celebrate! Liturgy of the Word” handouts
for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Each
handout includes a short prayer, gospel explanation, fun activity
and family discussion questions.
Saint Ignatius Saturday Work Crews are cancelled until further
notice. We plan to resume when conditions improve.

The Center for Ignatian Spiritualty at St. Ignatius parish
invites you to consider making the Spiritual Exercises of St.
Ignatius of Loyola following the format of
the 19th Annotation or SEEL
Model. Individuals will begin in
October 2020 and conclude the Spiritual Exercises in May 2021.
What do Vince Lombardi, John F. Kennedy, and Babe Ruth
have in common? They were all members of the Knights of
Columbus.
We invite you to join an order of Catholic men who put their
faith in action in our local community and around the
world. First year membership dues are free if you sign up
before August 31, 2020. There has never been a better time
to join!
Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, Bishop Soto has postponed all
Sacraments until further notice. Our children have been
preparing for First Eucharist all year and Confirmation the past
two years. The journey in arriving to this point has been filled
with reflection, prayer, and community. That journey will
just continue for a bit and that can never be a bad thing.
The gifts of those days, of receiving those Sacraments, will
happen and as soon as we know, we will inform you.
The Altar Maintenance Ministry is seeking men and women who will
commit to helping care for the sanctuary, candles, holy water
fonts, vestibule and sacristy.
Cleaning teams work 1.5 hours a week on either Friday or Saturday
after 8 a.m. mass. You many select the month you would like to
serve.
These volunteer opportunities could be logged for parish hours or
regular parent hours on Schoolspeak. They will not be
logged for you, so be sure to enter any hours you work.
1.SHARING GOD’S BOUNTY
Sharing God’s Bounty needs key volunteer positions to be filled
in order to continue to run smoothly:
For those interested in visiting the sick and homebound, a
morning of reflection and formation will be held on October 12 in
the Church from 9 am to noon. Please contact Anne Tropeano for
more information at atropeano@stignatiussac.org.
This new Religious Education Program is for preschool children
(ages 3-5). This is a great opportunity for your child to learn
about Jesus with other children while you attend the 9:30 am Mass
on Sundays. This program will meet on Sundays during the 9:30 am
mass for 1 hour (9:30 am to 10:30 am). This program requires
parent participation and we
are also in great need of volunteers to facilitate and help.
Please let us know if you can help.
St. Ignatius Parish welcomes advertising to promote individual
business on the back of the Weekly Parish Bulletin. Contact
Laura Chacon at 916.482.9666 ext. 212 or lvchacon@stignatiussac.org
for more details.
Advertisements will offset our printing cost and benefit our
Parish.
Please consider being a part of one of the most gratifying
ministries at St. Ignatius Parish. The Martha Ministry
volunteers are responsible for providing a luncheon reception in
the Garden Room for families in our parish who are experiencing
the loss of a loved one. Most often, the funeral is held in
our church and the guests arrive in the Garden Room immediately
after the service.
