We offer an extensive extra-curricular program. These activities and opportunities enrich the curriculum and contribute to the moral, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical growth of the students.
St. Ignatius School supports each child’s creativity by offering the opportunity to participate in Art Club. The club is open to students in fifth through eighth grades. Art Club meets officially once a month, with occasional additional impromptu recess meetings to allow additional time to work on projects as needed.
St. Ignatius appreciates the benefits and value that music brings to each child. St. Ignatius offers an opportunity for each student to join the Catholic School Band and learn to read music and play an instrument. The Band meets once a week after school and the students have the opportunity to join with band members from other Catholic schools for various musical opportunities throughout the year.
St. Ignatius offers its students the opportunity to participate in Baton. Baton is a combination of juggling, gymnastics, and dancing. The participating students meet after school once a week. As part of the Catholic School Majorettes, they can participate in various community events throughout the year.
Students in first through eighth grade can join the St. Ignatius Chess Club. Chess is a great game that can be enjoyed for an entire lifetime! Club members can join as beginners and learn the game through the club.
In Mad Science after-school programs, children engage in exciting hands-on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, participate in inquiry-based discussions and bring home make-and-take projects they have made themselves! Model rockets, periscopes, Mad Science putty, and more!
While St. Ignatius School does not have a school soccer team, many families choose to participate in a soccer club operated by the River City Youth Soccer League. Please follow this link to the club’s web page so you can learn about this organization.
Young Rembrandts is a fundamental drawing program that offers innovative, step-by-step curriculum and engaging subject matter. The secret to our success is that children already love to draw- we just take their love a little further by giving them a solid foundation that will take their drawings to confidence-boosting achievements. Watch your child reach a new level of potential with this award-winning program… Young Rembrandts is a different kind of learning and a powerful kind of fun!
