Sharing God’s Bounty Dinner

Our parish offers a free monthly meal open to anyone in our community who is hungry on the last Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm While COVID-19 restrictions are still in place, this meal is operating on a take-out basis with a small crew of volunteers preparing and passing out meals. As the threat from COVID-19 lessens we anticipate welcoming back larger numbers of volunteers. Bounty volunteers help welcome guests, prepare the dinner, and serve the dinner. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to the Director of Mission & Outreach to sign up for a volunteer shift.

Feed-A-Family at Christmas and Easter

Every year, over 400 families experiencing food insecurity receive a Christmas or Easter food box through our Feed-A-Family initiative. During the weeks leading up to box distribution day, the Parish and School join together to collect non-perishable food items that will fill the baskets. Volunteers help build the boxes that contain the food, sort collected food, pack each family’s box, and distribute the boxes to each family during our drive through pick-up day event at the Parish Center. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to the Director of Mission & Outreach to sign up for a volunteer shift.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide Catholic organization committed to following Christ through person-to-person service to those in need. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Ignatius assists our neighbors in need with rent and utility bills. Members of the Society are required to attend two monthly meetings on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 1:00 pm and be available on certain days during one week per month to make home visits to those requesting assistance. While this ministry does require more of a time commitment, members often find that they are able to grow and strengthen their personal spirituality through their involvement. If you are interested in learning more or would like to join the conference, please contact the Mission & Outreach Director or email stignatiussvdp@gmail.com .

Special Note: All volunteers within parish ministries are required to submit fingerprints via live scan and take online Safe Environment training. These requirements must be completed for the parish records in addition to the school records, as the Diocese of Sacramento keeps separate databases for parishes and schools. To learn how you can complete the required steps for parish ministries, please visit the Mission & Outreach webpage on the parish website (linked above).
