Parent Club Requirements for 2024-25

Dear Families,

We wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of some changes to the Parent Club requirements for the 2024-2025 school year.

In 2020, in response to Covid and limited events the Parent Club voted to lower the Parent Club volunteer hours requirement from previous years to 25. However, since we have returned to normal events and added several new events including a third major fundraiser (Fun Run) the Parent Club, after careful consideration and discussion, has decided to return the hours requirement to the pre-covid standard of 35. Therefore, starting April 16, 2024, the hours requirement for the 2024-2025 school year will be as follows:

St. Ignatius families will agree to complete 35 hours of volunteer service hours per year as described here:

  • At least 15 hours must be related to major fundraising.
  • At least 18 hours may be related to any Parent Club, school, athletics, or parish activity.
  • At least 2 hours must be Parish hours.

In considering this change, the Parent Club contacted the heads of each major fundraiser and discussed the number of hours each would be expected to provide to allow for each family to meet the quota and the Parent Club was assured that enough hours will be provided.

There will be more information regarding the hours and how you can meet those requirements in an additional email that will be sent with the 2024-2025 Parent Contract, but we wanted to be transparent and address the issue as we are aware there has been some conversation around this topic over the last few weeks.
