It’s the start of a new school year and the St. Ignatius Parent Club welcomes all our new and returning families to a year filled with joy, hope, and growth.

Before we jump into the happenings of this year we would like to extend a truly heartfelt thank you to Jackie Sueyres and Kristen Vathis for serving as Parent Club Co-Presidents last year. With their leadership, and the dedication, generosity, and support of numerous event chairs, coordinators, room parents, sponsors, volunteers, faculty, and staff members, our community raised $266,000 – which goes directly to our school. These fundraising efforts support the school’s ongoing needs and provide many opportunities that enhance and enrich the overall S.I. experience.

To get this school year off to a great start, the Parent Club invites you to join us in the Ministry Room from 7:45-9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13 for the First Day of School Coffee event. This gathering gives us all a chance to reconnect with each other.

Thank you to Carah Santos Lunn and May Valasquez, our New Family Co-Coordinators, for hosting the New Family Social earlier this month. This was a wonderful opportunity for our new and buddy families to meet each other. Our deep appreciation also goes to the volunteers, staff, and Grazing Craving (Shiella and Jose Velilla) who helped to make the event a lovely evening.

Don’t miss Back to School Night on Thursday, August 14 at 6 p.m. This is an adults-only event. Please note that the usual Parent Club event in the gym will not be held this year. Therefore, you will head straight to the classrooms at 6 p.m. This allows families to get home earlier. Information typically provided during this event will be shared throughout the year via School News emails, Room Parent communications, and the school website and app.

Every parent and guardian with a child at St. Ignatius is a member of the S.I. Parent Club. A Parent Club contact list and school event schedule will be placed on every desk at Back to School Night. We encourage you to get involved by volunteering, attending monthly Parent Club Meetings (second Tuesday from 6-7 p.m.), and joining us at various events. We look forward to a great year!
